Maori Language week

This week it is Maori language week and our school is practicing how to say Maori greetings and to say Maori words. I had played some Maori games the first one is when I was learning about animal names, my second one is about Matariki the oldest star out of the star cluster.

Hip hop dance lesson 2.

Today my class and I went to the hall to do our second lesson with our coach Izzy. While we were dancing the music lit up in my ears and it was making me very dizzy and exhausted. First we had to do fitness to get us ready for the lesson. We did very exciting and tiring things in our lesson which made me very confident to participate in. I really enjoyed our second lesson for hip hop with our coach Izzy.

Stavros Kyriakides made these sculptures out of driftwood and also rock. There was no glue, nails, wire or concrete to make his sculptures hold together. He made his sculptures in Wellington in the south coast. His work was distinctive because he made his sculptures only out of natural materials. People have different opinions like, liking things such as art and many other things.

Project compost and worm farming.

Picture

This term my group of Laina, La’Shae and Meliana made this project.  Our inquiry investigation question was investigate the different species of worms in New Zealand. First, we used the internet to research our topic.  Then we constructed this project. I spread the dirt around, Meliana was making the worms, La’shae cut out our scrip and Lania stuck the coloured paper on the box. We used a cardboard box, real dirt, coloured paper and 3D worms. I found spreading the dirt out was easy but the difficult part is when we had to make our own 3D worms. It helped my learning by learning more about worms and different worm species. I would like to investigate next why do worms have no spine.
