Room 12's brilliant Volcano.

In room 12 we are  learning to do a chemical change and see the reaction of the difference of liquids and solids. I felt very amazed and 

thrilled when I saw it explode. 

The ingredients to use .

1. White vinegar
2. Food coloring
3. Dishwashing liquid
4. Water
5. and also baking soda

Firstly you have to put in water first then put in vinegar after that put in dishwashing liquid finally baking soda so it will explode. When it finished exploding some kids tasted it,some kids said it was nice so I decided to try and when I tried it,it was disgusting

Physical change

WALT.. See if sugar can change from a solid to a liquid and if that can be reversed.What we did first was Mr.Naidoo dissolved into a liquid. Next he got the sugar and the liquid he poured it in a piece of cup then he showed us. After that he got a frypan and steam it together. It was bubbly and after a  few min laters it got stuck on the frypan and it was also  hard.

When my teacher said “do you think that we can make the sugar come back” I thought it was impossible because when you mix liquid and sugar together you can’t get the sugar back.

Telling The Time

In class we made clocks with a piece of paper. Then we laminated it,at first it was hard learning time but when we kept on practicing my class and I got better and better but some kids had to still learn. My teacher did some difficult ones and some easy ones.Sometimes I get confused and frustrated as well and I really enjoy doing time and hard ones too.

Water cycle and Dawali

Like every day we have been doing our water cycle and It has been fun
we get to colour and writhing about the water cycle and we made
some of the water cycle in a bag you could draw things on the bag
and you cold colour it in.
And now we are leaning about Diwali did you know india gods have lots of
arms and they are very rich and did you know indian people put like lots as of lights like really they go overboard. And it looks so cool when they on.

Warriors

Warriors

On Thursday 3 members from the warriors visit us to tell us about important stuff. The whole school was so excited to see the warriors,in the begin we had a few laughs. Then the warriors people told us their names, their names were Junior and Zac but we didn't know the other mans name. It was so fun the 3 things that were so important was get lots of sleep and always be hydrated and know what group you belong to I really enjoyed when the warriors came to our school.

Daylight saving.

I like daylight saving because you can spend more time with your friends and also your family. But the only thing that bothers me is that the children don’t get enough sleep because the time goes very fast.

Simple machines toys

Simple Machines Toys

We had to make a toy because we had to display it for our Technology Expo last Friday.I made a well for my simple machine and I was so inspired because 1 of my friends did and she said lots of nice things about it. For my well I used a felt pen box and card board,string,bottle lids.The simple machine used in my toy was a pulley,my simple machine was used in the olden days to pull up water from the deep well. I really enjoyed making the well and seeing other peoples projects and next year I hope we can have make  another simple  machines toy.

Duffy assembly

Daniel inspired me to read more books because you can learn more languages and you can learn harder words. He mentioned his sons, they love  to read books and his  younger son and his middle son loves to read  books about Sonny Bill. His older son likes to read fiction books. When Daniel  was little he never knew how to speak English but he went to a English school  it took for long to get him to speak English. But he never gave up. After school he knew how to speak English when he went home he spoke English but his mum said when he comes home he has to speak samoa. His grandma love to watch a English episode but she didn’t understand but she still watched it.

When Daniel grandma watched the  program Daniel listen to it in English and then he will translated into samoa, when he reads to his grandma he will do the same thing.

The enormous pumpkin

The enormous pumpkin.

1. On one beautiful  day a little girl named  Olivia bought some pumpkin seeds to grow. Then she went home to grow them she digged up a hole then she put her pumpkin seed in. The next day she watched the seed because she really wanted the seed to grow.

2. She keep on waiting for the seed to grow. But it never rained Olivia waited and waited and waited. One day it was pouring with rain and Olivia was so happy to see it rain. The next day it was still raining and Olivia never got a chance to see the seed it keep raining and raining and raining. The next morning the sun came out and Olivia went to see the  pumpkin seed  it was so enormous that Olivia couldn’t even pull it up herself so she asked her mum to help her they still couldn’t pull up the pumpkin so mum called dad then they tried but they still couldn’t pull up the pumpkin then the dad  called the whole neighbourhood  and they pulled and pulled and pulled then it finally came out.

3. The the whole neighbourhood had pumpkin soup.

NIKE SHOES

I like nike shoes because they are so popular and famous and most of the nike shoes sout with your clothes. I have Nike cortez's and most of my family always buy Nike shoes because they are so

cool but some of my family buy chuks. Chuks are a little bit cool but I like nikes more than chuks because of there colour. And thats why I like nikes.

 How I can stay safe around electricity.

How I stay safe around electricity.Never put fingers or other objects in an outlet and keep metal objects out of toasters and never use anything with a cord or plug around water never pull a plug out by its cord.Stay away from substations and power lines.Don't climb on power poles and  never fly kites near power lines.You should always look around you if there is any electricity things and you should always look around to see if there is any switch off and always see if no one is playing with electricity.

Hurricane.

 I feel sorry for the people who lost their houses and now they have no where to stay.Lots of people died and there were floods that looked like rivers .The hurricane was in texas lots of windows were smashed , cars were  sinking in the flood water and the flood waters were  everywhere.People who were in the terrible hurricane were so sad that there beautiful town had crashed down and demolished.

 

The most interesting toy.

Some of the classes at Glen Innes school were making a toy that had to have a pulley,wheel and axle,lever,gears,inclined plane,ramp,wedge and fulcrum.The whole school had to make a toy. Some people in my classroom were making ramps,pulley,lever,gears and more stuff.  My toy was about a well that pulls up water and the machine that I was using it was a pulley.

My class had to spild up because my teacher had to go somewhere but he came back to help us with our projects that we were making. Then we had to go to our class that we were split up to. I was in room 7 and in that class we had to finish off our work.In the middle session we had to go in the hall to look at the people's projects that they made,some of them were so fascinating.But when I saw room 6 sling shots it was marvelous,I went to go check it out a girl from room 6 made her own slingshot,she used a car and little army people on it and she put the slingshot at the back of the car.

At lunch the whole school had a hangi and it was so delicious. The CookIsland group cooked it for us and we enjoyed it very much. It was so cool on Friday.

What you need to make butter.

•Cream

•Salt

•Churn

•Sieve

METHOD

First you get a blow or a container so you can churn

the cream in the container.Next you clutch  the  cream then put it in the container.Then you stir the cream so it will turn into butter you have to stir it for ages and you have to just stir it in the right amount so your butter will turn out the right  you grab the churn and then mixed the butter for long.After that you get the container  and put the butter in there then stir it then tip the water out of the container risece it out and  wash it under water  finally when you are washing it put some salt on it because so it can stay on it’s spot  keep on washing it then I think it will be ready.

1. A man named Kupe he was a  lovely chief he lived in Hawaiki with all of his people.One day Kupe and some of his men went to go and catch some fish for their family,friends and people so they could eat.One day they went to go get some fish when they went to put some bait in the water when they tried to catch some fish but when they went to go pull up the bait the their bait was gone they didn’t who stole their bait so they just keep on fishing  and fishing when they went to pull up the bait again it was gone so fast.Kupe knew that it was an where it was Muturangi wheke so Kupe decided to go to Muturangi so he can tell the wheke to stop eating their bait and when Kupe went to go fishing again he put the fishing line in the sea and when he went to pull up the fishing rod the bait was gone again Kupe got irritated because the wheke keep on stealing their bait so he went to go and see Muturangi  he said to Muturangi tell your wheke to stop stealing our bait because we are hungry Muturangi told the wheke to stop eating their bait.Kupe felt glad that the wheke stopped eating their bait but when Kupe when to go fishing he put the bait in the water to catch some fish but the wheke stole the bait again so said that the wheke was a cheeky wheke.
2. Kupe went to go see Muturangi about the wheke because it was stealing their bait.Kupe got very impassioned at the cheeky wheke Kupe didn’t like the wheke it was disrespectful.Kupe went to Muturangi again Kupe said “if you don’t tell your wheke to stop eating our bait because we need it for our fishing  and if you don’t stop the wheke from eating our bait or I will murder the wheke.The wheke didn’t listen to Kupe so Kupe started to chase the wheke because it was a cheeky wheke. So Kupe got his sail ready and started to chase the wheke he started chasing  the wheke for ages it  Kupe was very mad he keep on chasing the wheke until he had killed it Kupe just wanted the wheke to stop taking their bait Kupe chased the wheke for ages all of a sudden Kupe caught  the wheke the cheeky wheke he killed the wheke and when he was chasing the wheke he had past heaps of places and when he was there he named some of it like papatoetoe and   like kohimarama as well. When he was sailing he was a place there was no ones was living there well he was there he called it Aotearoa when he discovered  the place Aotearoa when he found it he went back home and told his family.

3 And when he went back home he told his family that I found a new place so they sat on 7 wakas and started sailing to  Aotearoa he was so happy that he found Aotearoa so Kupe and his people went on the 7 wakas and when they were sailing they slip up some when West,South,East and North.They all made it to Aotearoa they all were happy that  they made it to Aotearoa.

I don't like rainy day

I don’t like rainy days especially when you step in  puddle and when   your shoes get wet.Sometimes you fall because it is to slippery and you might hurt yourself. I don’t like rainy days because you can get sick and sometimes there are hayle stones when it rains it's cold,muddy and always wet.I don’t like it when it's wet because my clothes get wet and I don’t like going to school with wet clothes. Sometimes rain is exciting but most of the times not so much some people like rain but I don’t because you get dirty and you feel very damp and that's why I don’t like rainy days.

        Skipping is a cheap and

              exciting way to get fit.

               

                  I think that it is good to do skipping for fitness because you can do different  skipping styles and  you also get fit and strong. I think that you can also make yourself healthy as well and it is very exciting to do.   I think that you can also tell your friends, families and next door neighbours to do it with you because it is very good to do and if you do fitness all the time you will be healthy and strong.

Netball Coaching

We were so excited to get netball coaching because I  like to play netball but I’m not very good at it.Today we learnt how to do chest pass, bounce pass, shoulder pass and over head pass.I enjoyed playing netball and sometimes we play some games and I learnt a lot about netball .It was  amazing time at netball with the coaches.  We had some funny moments too and I enjoyed it.

Swimming sports

Last Friday it was cool and fun because it was swimming
sports and parents came to watch their children swim.





First we did breaststroke then we did free style and then we did back stroke. When my name got called I was so  nervous to go swimming.The seniors and parents were cheering for their children who were swimming.My nana  and my brothers and my cousins came to support me swimming.It was exciting because so many people came a tie  in there races.After that we had a competition to see who could hold their breath the longest under the water.And we had to show off our skills.Some of the kids made,it all the way and they held their breath for ages.

Finally we had our sausage sizzle to eat and an ice block and our drink.I liked the drink because it was frozen.I really enjoyed the swimming sports and I did well in the

races too.

Whanganui In the holiday.

In the holiday I had lots of fun with my 2 cousins and my aunty in Whanganui. They picked me up on Friday at 2.14.

The next morning on Saturday we left Auckland early to travel a long way to Whanganui. My bags were already packed and all we needed to pack was the blankets, just incase we get cold in the ride. We said bye to our family and then  we were off to Whanganui. It took us about 3 hours to get to get there and it was a very boring drive because my aunty just kept on driving and we did nothing exciting in the car. When we got to Whanganui I saw my uncle who just finished his work and he was so excited to see me that he gave me a big hug. My aunty had a sleep because she was tired after driving all that way. After that we went to the go karts and it was cool there and it was so fun in Whanganui because we did lots of exciting things like watching some scary movies,visiting the Kowhai park and riding the go karts.

I felt happy that I went to Wanganui and I am looking forward to going there again for Christmas.
